Ferrari’s F1 Masterchef: Vasseur Says Success Is ‘Like Cooking’—But Can Hamilton Turn Up the Heat?

Ferrari’s 2025 Formula 1 campaign has been more of a slow simmer than a roaring fire—but team principal Fred Vasseur insists the right ingredients are there. They just need the perfect recipe.

Despite Lewis Hamilton’s thrilling sprint victory in China, the Scuderia has struggled to keep pace with rivals McLaren, Mercedes, and Red Bull. With just four races gone in the 24-race season, Ferrari sits fourth in the constructors’ standings, a staggering 94 points behind leaders McLaren.

So, what’s missing?

Vasseur, known for his calm demeanor and sharp wit, compared Ferrari’s challenge to mastering a high-stakes kitchen.

“The ingredients are all there, but it’s like cooking,” he said. “You have to put everything together at the right stage. We just need to stay calm and analyze.”

Hamilton’s Ferrari Adaptation: A Work in Progress

For Hamilton, the transition from Mercedes to Ferrari has been anything but seamless. The seven-time world champion admitted he’s still adjusting to the SF-25’s handling, calling it a “different beast” compared to his old Silver Arrow.

“My focus is on refining my driving style,” Hamilton said ahead of the Saudi GP. “It might take time, but I’ll get there.”

His former teammate, George Russell, has no doubts. After seeing Hamilton dominate China’s sprint race, Russell believes more “magic” is coming.

“He’s an amazing driver,” Russell said. “When things click, we’ll see more of that brilliance.”

Can Ferrari Turn the Season Around?

With 20 races left, Vasseur remains optimistic. The field is tighter than ever, and one breakthrough could change everything.

“The competition is fierce,” he admitted. “But we’re not panicking. This is just the beginning.”

Will Ferrari’s slow start evolve into a championship charge? Or will their rivals keep them stuck in the midfield? One thing’s certain—the heat is on.
