Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has strongly backed Lewis Hamilton despite the British driver’s rocky start to the 2025 Formula One season with the Italian team.
Hamilton has openly acknowledged the difficulties, admitting that early results have been disappointing and suggesting that 2025 could be a challenging year. But Vasseur remains confident in Hamilton’s potential and the capabilities of Ferrari’s car.
Responding to criticism that Hamilton’s performance has declined, Vasseur didn’t mince words, calling such claims “fing bulls.”
“I’m 2,000 percent behind him,” Vasseur declared. “I’ll give him all the support he needs, and from tomorrow morning, we’ll start working together to find solutions. Honestly, I’m not too concerned.”
He pointed to Hamilton’s performances in China, Bahrain, and even the early stages of the current race weekend as evidence of the driver’s enduring skill.
“The potential is there,” Vasseur added. “We just need to fix the car’s balance. Right now, both Lewis and the team are struggling with how the car handles and how it’s using the tyres. It’s a tough spot, but the car has potential — we’re committed to solving this.”
