F1 2025: Lewis Hamilton Isn’t Bothered by Ferrari ‘Crisis’ Talk—He Sees Potential, Not Panic

Lewis Hamilton admits Ferrari is often seen as a “crisis” team—but believes that scrutiny is just part of being with the most iconic name in Formula 1.

Speaking ahead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Hamilton said the intense spotlight on Ferrari comes with the territory.

“It’s to be expected. It’s the greatest team in Formula 1 history,” he told reporters in Jeddah. “There’s more clicks, more stories, more opinions. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing.”

Since joining Ferrari, the seven-time World Champion has consistently defended the team’s long-term vision, emphasizing the passion and potential within.

“There are so many great things in this team,” Hamilton said. “We want to harness that energy and protect it—because no other team is under this much spotlight.”

Though still adapting to his new environment, Hamilton remains optimistic, despite only managing a fifth-place finish in Bahrain last weekend.

“I made some changes to my driving style,” he revealed. “It’s easy to slip back into old habits. So I need to keep practicing and evolving.”

The Brit also praised the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, calling it one of his favorite tracks—despite its high-speed, narrow layout that has drawn criticism from some drivers.

“I love the track. It’s very fast and challenging, physically and mentally,” he said. “It’s hard to explain how quick everything happens.”

Hamilton famously won the inaugural Saudi Arabian GP in 2021 after a dramatic battle with Max Verstappen—just before their controversial title decider in Abu Dhabi.

Ferrari showed promising pace in Bahrain, especially on medium tyres, but a safety car forced a switch to hards, stalling a potential podium push. Despite that, Hamilton is focused on the bigger picture.

“That stint in Bahrain was a positive step. It gave me confidence in the car, but we’re still learning,” he said.

The Jeddah race marks another chance for Ferrari to show progress—and for Hamilton to continue his adjustment to life in red.
