DRAW ATP Madrid Open 2025 led by Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Novak Djokovic and defending champion Andrey Rublev

The draw for the 2025 ATP Madrid Open has been officially announced, setting the stage for an exciting tournament running from April 23 to May 4 at the iconic Caja Mágica.

Alexander Zverev leads the field as the top seed and will open his campaign against either Roberto Bautista Agut or Jaume Munar. The German, who has a strong record on clay, will be looking to add a Madrid title to his resume.

Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, another top contender and fan favorite, is slated to face either Yoshihito Nishioka or Zizou Bergs in his opening match. However, his participation remains uncertain after he experienced discomfort in his right thigh adductor during his loss to Holger Rune in the Barcelona Open final. Alcaraz is currently awaiting MRI results to determine his status. Should he be fit to play, he will carry the hopes of the home crowd in what will be the first Madrid Open without Rafael Nadal, who retired last year.

Novak Djokovic, a three-time Madrid champion, returns to action for the first time since 2022. He is set to face either a qualifier or Italy’s Matteo Arnaldi in his opening match. All eyes will be on Djokovic as he looks to reassert his dominance on clay ahead of Roland Garros.

Meanwhile, Taylor Fritz will open against either Christopher O’Connell or Camilo Ugo Carabelli after receiving a first-round bye.

Defending champion Andrey Rublev also returns to defend his title, adding further depth to an already competitive field. With rising stars, seasoned champions, and uncertain injury updates, the 2025 Madrid Open promises plenty of drama on the red clay of Caja Mágica.
