Tough night ahead for the Milwaukee Bucks. The team will be without its two superstars—Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard—when they face off against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night.
The Bucks confirmed that Giannis is sidelined with a sprained left foot, while Lillard continues to deal with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in his right calf. The condition, which involves a blood clot forming in a vein, has him on blood-thinning medication—a serious situation that extends beyond basketball.
This will mark Lillard’s fourth straight missed game, and the Bucks haven’t set a timeline for his return. The 7-time All-NBA guard has been a key playmaker this season, averaging 24.9 points and 7.1 assists per game.
Giannis, on the other hand, had been powering through the Bucks’ five-game road trip until now. The two-time MVP is having another dominant season, putting up 30.2 points (2nd in the NBA) and 12.0 rebounds (6th in the league) per game.
Without both stars, Milwaukee will face a steep challenge in the Mile High City—especially against a Nuggets team that’s proven it can go the distance.
