Lewis Hamilton’s transition to Ferrari has hit a tough patch early in the 2025 Formula 1 season, with the seven-time world champion expressing concerns over the challenges that lie ahead. After a disappointing showing at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Hamilton offered a candid assessment of his situation—one that suggests the road ahead may be far from smooth.
Expectations were sky-high when Hamilton announced his move to the Scuderia, with fans hoping he could reignite Ferrari’s championship hopes. But so far, reality hasn’t met the hype. Hamilton managed only a seventh-place finish in Jeddah, struggling to find pace throughout the weekend and finishing more than 30 seconds adrift of his teammate, Charles Leclerc, who secured a podium for the team.
“I gave it everything in the race today, but the car just didn’t respond,” Hamilton admitted post-race. Looking ahead to the next round, he added, “I think I’ll struggle also in Miami. Right now, there’s no clear solution—so this might just be how the rest of the year looks. It’s going to be painful.”
The Briton’s honesty has sparked concern among fans and pundits alike. Many anticipated he would quickly become the lead figure at Ferrari, but Leclerc’s deep familiarity with the team and its car appears to be giving him a significant edge. Hamilton noted that data comparisons show he’s losing time in the corners compared to Leclerc, possibly due to differences in car setup or simply his ongoing adaptation to Ferrari’s machinery.
Despite the rough start, Hamilton’s resilience and experience remain key. While he’s clearly frustrated by the current form, there’s still time in the season for improvement. The big question now is whether the British legend can dig deep, overcome the early hurdles, and mount a comeback—or if his Ferrari chapter is destined to be one of disappointment.
With Miami on the horizon and pressure building, all eyes will be on Hamilton to see if he can turn things around in the scarlet red.
