Lewis Hamilton’s 2025 season has had a subdued start, falling short of expectations. He finished 10th in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park. At the Chinese Grand Prix, despite crossing the line in sixth, the seven-time World Champion was disqualified for excessive plank wear. In the third round at Suzuka, Hamilton managed a seventh-place finish—his best result so far this season. Despite the modest results, Le Mans Series driver Jamie Chadwick believes Hamilton has “exceeded expectations” at Ferrari.
Jamie Chadwick on Lewis Hamilton’s 2025 form
Jamie Chadwick, however, has doubts that Lewis Hamilton be able to “make a dent” in the upcoming Bahrain Grand Prix, scheduled at the Bahrain International Circuit from April 11 to 13. “I think it’s exceeded expectations in some ways,” Chadwick told Sky Sports.
“What we saw in China was definitely a big step in just two races to be performing like that. There’s so much new to him in this car. He’s talked about there potentially being a bit of an existing issue that’s been there in the last few races that’s kind of hindered performance a little bit. [Bahrain] is a track he knows very well in that Ferrari from testing, so hopefully that gives them a bit of a better window to perform.
“But arguably, with the pace of the McLaren, it’s going to be hard for them to really make a dent,” he said.
Lewis Hamilton’s stronghold at Bahrain Circuit
Lewis Hamilton has enjoyed remarkable success at the Bahrain International Circuit, claiming victory five times—2014, 2015, 2019, 2020, and 2021—the most by any driver in the event’s history.
Interestingly, Ferrari holds the record for the most Constructors’ Championship wins at this venue, having topped the standings here seven times: in 2004, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2017, 2018, and 2022.
As Hamilton gears up to race in Ferrari red for the first time at this iconic circuit, all eyes will be on whether he can extend his personal dominance while contributing to Ferrari’s legacy in Bahrain.
