The New York Knicks have cleared Karl-Anthony Towns to play in Game 4 of their playoff series against the Boston Celtics, despite concerns over a finger injury sustained in Game 3.
Towns hurt his left ring finger during the Knicks’ 103–95 loss on Saturday, but the team’s injury report for Monday’s matchup came back clean—signaling no limitations for any players, including Towns. The five-time All-Star took part fully in Sunday’s practice and has a track record of pushing through pain, having played earlier this season while managing a thumb injury.
When asked postgame if he’d undergone X-rays or additional tests on his hand, Towns chose not to confirm but emphasized his commitment to staying on the court.
“I just want to do whatever I can to be out there,” he said. “It is what it is. I’m gonna keep finding ways to play, so I ain’t tripping.”
Despite the injury, Towns was active in Game 3, logging 38 minutes and putting up 21 points and 15 rebounds. While he’s been a dominant force on the boards—averaging 15 rebounds across the series—his shooting has been inconsistent. He shot just 5-of-18 from the field on Saturday and has made only 1-of-7 attempts from beyond the arc over the first three games.
Still, his rebounding presence has been crucial for the Knicks as they look to even the series at Madison Square Garden.
