Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green showed his sentimental side this Mother’s Day, paying tribute to his wife, Hazel Renee, in a heartfelt Instagram post. The couple, who began dating in 2018 and married in 2022, are raising a blended family of four children together.
Green posted a series of photos of Hazel over the years, paired with a touching message that honored her strength and dedication as a mother.
“Superwoman, one day will never be enough to celebrate what you mean to our family. We love you and are lucky to have you as the Rock! Happy Mothers Day Mi Amor!” Green wrote.
The couple’s journey began long before the NBA spotlight. Both Green and Renee attended Michigan State University, where they first met in an acting class. Though they didn’t begin dating until years later, they reconnected in Los Angeles and quickly built a strong bond.
“We went to a rooftop pool and hung out at the cabana all day… It was really casual, but also reflective of our relationship. We really are best friends,” Renee shared in a 2022 interview with ESSENCE.
Their love story has since grown into a supportive partnership. Renee, an actress known for roles in Empire, The Chi, and Power Book IV: Force, often supports Green courtside at Warriors games. They tied the knot in Malibu in a star-studded ceremony that included NBA stars like Steph Curry, LeBron James, and Klay Thompson.
Together, they’re raising four children. Renee has a daughter, Olive Jay, from her previous relationship with former NBA player Jacob Pullen, while Green has a son, Draymond Jr., from a past relationship with Jelissa Hardy. The couple also share two kids of their own—son Cash, born in October 2020, and daughter Hunni, born in December 2023.
Green’s Mother’s Day message not only highlighted his appreciation for Hazel but also reminded fans of the strength behind every successful athlete—their support system at home.
