Lewis Hamilton Faces Three Major Issues at Ferrari as Charles Leclerc Refuses to Accept Team Struggles

Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc both expressed frustration with Ferrari after the team’s disappointing performance in the Miami Grand Prix weekend. Despite starting from eighth on the grid, Hamilton managed to secure third place in the Saturday sprint race, but his teammate Leclerc didn’t even get the chance to compete after crashing into the wall before the race started.

Both drivers struggled in qualifying, with Hamilton failing to make it past Q2 and ending up 12th, while Leclerc made it to Q3 but could only manage eighth. The chances of either driver making it to the podium in the main Grand Prix looked slim after their underwhelming performances.

Following the qualifying results, Hamilton identified three key problems he and his team are grappling with: “We’ve got problems with brakes, we’ve got issues with instability, and generally, we’re just not quick enough,” he explained. The 40-year-old also admitted that getting through the early qualifying stages has been challenging: “Just to get into Q3 is tough for us at the moment. Once you’re on the backfoot, it’s hard to make up those points.”

Hamilton remains hopeful that Ferrari can improve, but added, “I’m just hoping that we can turn things around as soon as possible. But right now, this is the situation we’re in, and there’s not much I can do.”

Leclerc, meanwhile, was visibly frustrated. The 27-year-old expressed his dissatisfaction with Ferrari’s position in the Constructors’ standings, sitting fourth and already 119 points behind leaders McLaren. “I’m not accepting it,” he stated firmly. “It’s just not good enough. It’s frustrating because I feel like I’m doing a really good job, but when you finish P4, P5, P6, P7, or P8, it’s just a shame.”

Leclerc, currently in fifth place in the drivers’ standings with 47 points, is ahead of Hamilton, who is two places and seven points behind.
